For 61 years, SIECUS has proudly served as a national leader for sex education through advocacy, policy and coalition building.

We are excited to announce an exciting new chapter for our organization as Callie Simon (she/her) officially joins us as the Executive Director on September 2, 2025. With nearly two decades of experience advancing adolescent sexual and reproductive health and rights, Callie brings the vision and expertise we need to strengthen our impact at this critical time.

As a global leader in the field, Callie has worked to expand equitable access to inclusive, rights-based comprehensive sexuality education for young people across 23 countries. Most recently, she led the global adolescent SRHR programs and policy portfolio at Save the Children, following earlier leadership roles at Pathfinder International.

“I taught my first sex education workshop as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Dominican Republic and saw firsthand how knowledge and choice can transform lives. I am honored and energized to join SIECUS as Executive Director at a time when the rights of young people in the United States, especially young people of color, LGBTQIA+ youth, and other historically marginalized communities, are increasingly threatened.

I look forward to working alongside SIECUS’ staff and board, our partners, and young people to ensure that every young person has access to inclusive, comprehensive sex education. Together, we will foster healthier lives, stronger communities, and a more just and equitable future.” — Callie Simon

Callie’s expertise extends to global policy and research, including close collaboration with the World Health Organization on global guidelines and extensive publications on adolescent sexual and reproductive health and rights and sexuality education. She grew up in Florida and holds degrees from the University of Miami and Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health.

Thank you for your ongoing support and investment in SIECUS. Keep a lookout for future correspondence directly from Callie!

All our best,

SIECUS Board

SIECUS: Sex Ed for Social Change has served as a leading national voice for sex education since 1964, asserting that sexuality is a fundamental part of being human, one worthy of dignity and respect. Through advocacy, policy, and coalition building, SIECUS advances sex education as a vehicle for social change—where all people receive sex education, are affirmed in their identities, and have the power to make decisions about their own health, pleasure, and wholeness.
