Statement by Sexuality Information and Education Council of United States (SIECUS) President & CEO, Chitra Panjabi:

“We are horrified and deeply saddened by yesterday’s tragic and deadly mass shooting that occurred in the early hours of the morning during an LGBTQ community event, Latin Night, at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, FL. Our thoughts and condolences are with the victims, their friends and families.”

“Yesterday’s attack on queer and trans people of color has no place in our society and is yet another reminder that the LGBTQ community continues to face violence and discrimination across our country. SIECUS condemns this act and stands in solidarity with the LGBTQ community in Florida and across the nation as we mourn those whose lives were taken.”
