This National Sex Education Standards Glossary is intended to assist those teaching sex education or those involved in designing sex education curricula and lesson plans, not necessarily young people or students of sex education in a K–12 classroom setting. All language is constantly evolving; new terms are introduced, while others fade from use or change their meaning over time. This remains true for the terms and definitions included in this Glossary.
