Act Now to Defend TPP

This summer of 2026, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) notified 57 of the nation’s 63 Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program (TPP) grantees that their grants would be terminated effective immediately. This impacts approximately $68 million in federal funding.

HHS then attempted to redirect TPP funding toward new, ideologically driven programs that Congress never authorized. But on August 19, a federal court issued a preliminary injunction blocking HHS from implementing its new TPP policy, including their new FY26 funding opportunities, while litigation continues.

Now, millions of dollars in congressionally appropriated TPP funding are stuck in limbo. The court’s ruling halted HHS’s new funding scheme, but it did not reinstate the previously terminated grants. With the fiscal year ending September 30, Congress must not allow these critical funds to sit unused while proven programs remain without funding.

Contact your Member of Congress and urge them to demand that HHS follow the law, restore funding to previously awarded grantees, and ensure these dollars are used as Congress intended.
