The 2017 Sex Ed State Legislative Year-End Report identifies all state-level legislative efforts that took place in 2017 to either advance or restrict sexuality education instruction. SIECUS identified 64 bills related to school-based sexuality education introduced in 27 states and Puerto Rico. Approximately sixty-seven percent of the bills identified sought to improve sexuality education in public schools.
