Sydelle Barreto (she/her/hers)

Assistant Director of Federal Policy

Sydelle Barreto joins SIECUS as the Assistant Director of Federal Policy. Prior to SIECUS, she was the Policy Communications Specialist at the National Association for the Education of Young Children where she helped uplift the voices of early childhood educators and connect policy to practitioners. She will receive her Master of Arts in Philosophy and Social Policy from George Washington University this May. While at George Washington, she wrote her thesis on the intersection of fat liberation and sexual liberation and the implications for sexual public health. Sydelle is deeply passionate about ensuring inclusive, affirming, and liberatory educational experiences for youth.

Sydelle received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Economics from Northeastern University.
