Communications Internship

 

SIECUS is searching for a freelance graphic designer to join our team! Position Overview 

This person will play a crucial role in furthering the SIECUS brand through the creation of compelling visual communications products. The freelance graphic designer should be a well-organized self-starter with a flair for all things design-related who is excited to take the look, feel, and overall aesthetic of SIECUS-branded materials to the next level. This is a remote position.

Since 1964, SIECUS has been advocating for the rights of all people to accurate information, comprehensive sexuality education, and the full spectrum of sexual and reproductive health services.
We believe that sex education is a powerful vehicle for social change. Our focus is on advancing comprehensive sexuality education as a means of building a foundation for a long-term culture shift that will positively impact all levels of society, particularly issues of gender equity, sexuality, sexual and reproductive health, consent, personal safety, and autonomy. SIECUS applies an intersectional lens to ensure people’s real lived experiences inform our policy, education, and strategic communications work.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Lead and develop consistent, innovative design for SIECUS materials, including but not limited to: fact sheets; research reports; leave-behinds; SIECUS swag; and other collateral material
  • Assistance with miscellaneous digital design projects including infographic creation and social media sharables as needed
  • Self-management of schedule and workload to meet deadlines and requirements as contractually agreed to with SIECUS staff

Qualifications: 

  • Experience designing research reports and creating data visualizations
  • Strong skills in typesetting, layout design, proofreading, and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong communication skills and an ability to meet (or beat) deadlines
  • A passion for advancing sexual and reproductive freedom for all
  • A sense of humor

Compensation: This is position is offered at a starting rate of $35/hour, negotiable based on experience.
