Annotated Bibliography: Sexuality In Middle And Later Life

Sexual feelings and desires exist throughout the life cycle. Yet, information has tended to focus on sexuality as it relates to young people and young adults. With the baby-boom generation moving into middle and later life, people are now, with increasing frequency, acknowledging the sexuality needs of this generation.

There is currently a wide variety of literature on sexuality issues for adults in middle and later life. This bibliography reflects that growing interest. It also lists valuable resources for these adults as they face physical and emotional changes as well as new challenges and experiences.

SIECUS does not sell or distribute any of these publications. They are however, available for use in our Mary S. Calderone Library. For those interested in purchasing certain books, each annotation contains ordering information. Please call individual publishers for shipping and handling charges.

This bibliography was compiled by Amy Levine, librarian, and Darlene Torres, library assistant, at the Mary S. Calderone Library.

** These books were in SIECUS' Annotated Bibliography on Sexuality in Middle and Later Life (June/July 1997) but are still relevant.

Diclaimer Notice: Overall, the books listed in this bibliography contain postive images about sexuality. Some may, however, contain messages or information that need updating.
